"Nutritional and Productive Food Security in Rural Communities of the Ipanema Territory of Alagoas" was an initiative of the Consortium for the Development of the Ipanema Region - CONDRI - in conjunction with the consortium municipalities of the Ipanema Region of Alagoas, Territorial Collectives, Community Associations, Quilombola Communities and Civil Society Organisations working in the territories. It is a dialogue and partnership with the Secretariat for Food and Nutritional Security and the Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger, with the aim of contributing to the implementation of structuring actions to make the Brazil Without Poverty Programme effective in the Sertão de Alagoas. The development of integrated production systems in rural communities is a proposal to emancipate and promote the human right to adequate food for families in situations of extreme poverty and social exclusion. These are organisational, training and production actions aimed at structuring agri-food and associative activities to strengthen family production units. Around 6,000 low-income families have been assisted through productive and training activities.
