A more human geography means one that reflectson geographical phenomena with the aim of better achievingunderstanding of man and his condition. In this sense, thehumanist approach in geography, possessing the phenomenologyexistential as the underlying philosophy and hermeneutics as the methodof interpretation, seeks to enhance the individual's experience orgroup, in order to understand the mosaic of feelings and thepeople's understanding of their places. In thisperspective, the geographers of the current on screen argue that itsapproach deserves the label of humanist, because they study the aspectsof man such as meanings, values, goals and purposes, welllike allegories, dreams, daydreams and reminiscences. The present booktalks about the assumptions of the humanist horizon,establishing this bias as a proposal for the humanization of thegeography.
