In Ethiopia, establishment of Cooperatives dates back to 1960s. Cooperatives are both social and economic organizations established primarily to meet the needs of their members by pooling scarce resource for collective action. But, forest cooperatives are novel type of Cooperatives in Ethiopian context, being organized in Oromia National Regional State recently for sustainable utilization of forest and its products. This book is an outcome of a reasearch aimed at understanding forest cooperatives contributions, factors affecting forest development and members perception towards their cooperatives. The authors recommended members' participation in seedling plantation and forest protection, additional income generation for members, member education, and nursery site management on continuous basis for forest development/conservation (keeping together) through cooperatives (working together).
