'Forged from the Soul' is a powerful true-life story about a twenty eight year old man, (the authors son), killed by a drunk 'hit and run driver'. It paints a picture of his infectious enthusiasm for life and his deeply spiritual nature. An influential individual, crazy at times, loved by all who knew him. The story deepens into a powerfully compelling 'call to arms', as his parents and vibrant friends gather together, determined to honour his life. They find themselves caught up in a battle, as the hellish nightmare of tragedy unfolds. They may be unorthodox and their ways alternative, but they have no intention of giving up. Defiant of 'authority' and confident in their own self-imposed moral code, their actions speak out against injustice. The coldness of the criminal justice process provides a bleak backdrop as the balance of justice swings firmly towards the criminal. Many questions are raised, but most pertinent is whether our present drink driving laws are fit for purpose. The story provides a compelling argument to abolish the charge of 'Causing Death by Careless Driving whilst under the influence of Drink or Drugs' and instead sentence offenders with 'Manslaughter'. 'Forged from the Soul' Soul searching and unlike any other. "It's as beautiful as it is tough." The Prolific Pen Limited.
Autorenporträt
Sue is a new author. She has a B. Ed. degree and taught as an Infant school teacher, before rising to the challenge of 'Head' for the last sixteen years of her chosen career. Sue worked for several years, as part of a consultative group of leaders and headteachers, with the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA later known as QCDA). The aim;- to improve the quality of educational provision and to introduce a wider, more creative curriculum in UK schools. As a result of this focussed work, Sue developed great insight into 'essential life skills', 'emotional intelligence' and 'personal achievement'. The circumstances under which Sue returned fully to her love of writing, are tragic ones, as you will see from this, her first, very moving publication, 'Forged from the Soul' which was written in honour of her only son, a blacksmith, aged twenty eight, killed by a drunk 'hit and run' driver. After his death, Sue left the field of education, to become an author and to work part-time for a national charity.
