Autorenporträt
For the first 17 years of her life, Myra spent most of her time in rural Mississippi. Both her parents and grandparents were born and raised in a small town less than 50 miles from Memphis. Growing up there, she experienced very little cultural versatility. Racial tension was at a minimum, probably because of desegregation. Myra's interaction with people who did not look like her came when she attended High School where competition was more about popularity than race. Myra attended college at Jackson State University where she began studying towards her nursing degree. She completed her studies at Ole Miss, Home of the Rebels. After graduating and practicing nursing in Jackson for a few months, Myra moved to Atlanta, Ga. In Atlanta, she continued her nursing career. However, her passion for writing, which she has had since grade school, seemed to overtake her interest so she began putting pen to paper. Please enjoy this story about individuals whose lives were worlds apart but were bonded by strength, love and hope.
