The eugenol buccal film, a unique formulation, was created specifically for the anti-microbial and analgesic activities in the mouth cavity. Due to its location at the site of the antimicrobial process, the benefits are based on the lowering of drug dosage. The brief residence period at the application site is one specific issue with medication delivery systems intended to treat diseases of the oral cavity. Utilizing bioadhesive polymers, or polymers that interact with biological membranes in a characteristically adhesive way, may help alleviate this issue.A variety of bioadhesive mucosal dosage forms, including films, gels, and tablets, have recently been created. However, in terms of mobility and convenience, buccal films are preferred over sticky tablets. Additionally, they can lengthen the little period of time that oral gels, which are quickly cleaned off by saliva, remain on the mucosa. Buccal films can also be used to cover open wounds, which lessens pain and improves the efficacy of treatment. This work's primary objective is to develop and assess a mucoadhesive film that contains eugenol using hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and PEG-400 as biopolymer.
