a)Introduction to the problem: The concept of mixed solvency as proposed by Dr. R.K. Maheshwari is that all substances whether liquid, gases or solids have solubilizing power. Till now this concept has been utilized in the field of pharmaceutical analysis with an aim to preclude the use of organic solvent, reduce the individual toxicities, potentiate the weaker solvents etc. and in the field of formulation of solid dispersions, transdermal gels, syrups, injections, microspheres, SEDDS etc. In future, this concept shall be utilized for development of many novel drug delivery systems of drugs.…mehr

a)Introduction to the problem: The concept of mixed solvency as proposed by Dr. In future, this concept shall be utilized for development of many novel drug delivery systems of drugs. It can also be employed for extraction of herbal active principles. Eutectic mixtures can also be used as solvents. This concept shall prove a boon in pharmaceutical field and also in non-pharmaceutical field like chemical engineering etc. b) Abstract:The objective of the present research work is to employ the concept of mixed solvency, to investigate the various solubilizers, to increase thesolubility of surfactants and the intended drug in diethyl ether, formulate niosomal gel for transdermal use and perform its evaluation. c) Target groups: Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical analysis.
