Steven M. Thaxton dedicated his adult life working with families with newborns and young children. He was a teacher trainer, elementary school principal, family therapist, and a college instructor. Until his retirement, Dr. Thaxton was the Executive Director for First 5 El Dorado Children and Families Commission in El Dorado County, California. Dr. Thaxton enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, volunteering as a board member for organizations for children and adults with disabilities, writing professional articles and novels, and advocating for the ACA and women's rights. Dr. Thaxton spent time between Northern California, Palm Springs, and Mexico. In retirement, Dr. Thaxton's passion turned to writing. At the time of his passing in September 2014, his fourth book, Cracked Eggs, was at the publisher awaiting release.
