The writer was born on 8 July 1960 in Lubuk Basung, Indonesia. She completed her Bachelor at Andalas Univ. Padang, Indonesia in 1985,her master at Univ.of Kentucky, Lexington, USA in 1991, and her PhD at The Univ. of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia in 2005. She focuses her research on soil organic matter and aggregate stability on marginal soils.
