Autorenporträt
Judy Politzer is the author and illustrator of several children's picture books and has been an artist at heart her whole life. As a child, she enjoyed sketching portraits of neighborhood children, and in high school, she created illustrations for her senior yearbook. After graduation from college and a career in graphic design, she eventually found her calling as an educator of art and AP art history in private and public high schools. Inspired by the antics of her two sons, she was also encouraged by her husband to pursue her dreams of storytelling. These stories explore some of the many challenges of childhood in a fun and relatable way, from runaway pickles to a bullied lion and everything in between. A fascination with fairy tales and nursery rhymes led to the creation of her large, handstitched felt wall hangings that are depicted throughout Fractured Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales, and Potpourri.
