Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was an English Gothic novelist who wrote one of the first pieces of science fiction when she penned Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, first published in 1818.  Maïté Schmitt was born in a little town near Strasbourg in France, close to the German border. Her love of old animation movies inspired her to study illustration and animation.
