The book also contains a number of expressions of journalists that they encounter while performing their professional duties and how freedom of speech and expression is recognized in Kashmir valley. The work is the result of painstaking research in a state where no authentic record of the people struggle, their sufferings and problems is available; the author has collected the data by digging into the pages of some newspapers and establishing contacts with the journalists.

Irfan Hashim a trained and experienced journalist has started his career in Indian occupied Kashmir through pictures. He has been associated with leading Indian and international media organisations like NDTV, Times of India, IRIIS, and Panos South-Asia. Irfan is presently pursuing M.Phil in Journalism and is working as a freelance journalist.
