Autolysis is the act by which a person intentionally causes death. The aim of this research was to determine the frequency of attempted autolysis and the associated risk factors in patients aged 7 to 13 years admitted to the Emergency Department of the Servicio Desconcentrado Hospital Universitario Pediátrico Dr. Agustín Zubillaga, during the period January 2017 to June 2022. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted, whose population consisted of patients aged 7 to 13 years, 11 months and 29 days, with a diagnosis of attempted autolysis, the sample was census type non-probabilistic intentional and adjusted to the selection criteria, then the data were recorded in an instrument developed for this purpose and applied through the review of medical records as a secondary source, the results were presented in tables or graphs and statistical analysis was performed using computerized statistical packages such as the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), version 25.0 for calculations.
