Hitherto detailed compilation of Freshwater and Marine fungi of India are however very meager. Thus, this monographic work makes an effort to provide a detailed compilation of information on substrate range, state-wise distribution and references of Freshwater and marine fungi of India.

Dr. B.D. Borse obtained his Ph. D. in Botany from the Univ. of Pune. Presently, working as a Principal at NSS Dhule¿s U.P. Arts and Sci. college, Dahiwel, Dhule, Maharashtra.He has published 105 research papers and guided 16 Ph. D. students. He has published two books: Marine Fungi of India (2012) and Freshwater Higher Fungi of India (2016).
