Autorenporträt
George Brandon Esslinger was raised in the great depression of the 1930's, the son of Charles Burton and Ruby Brandon Esslinger; and the fifth of six children. He had to overcome more than his share of problems during his early years, and in elementary and high school. But he had a work ethic and started by delivering newspapers when he was twelve years old. He was very patriotic and served in the Marine Reserves while in high school, and later in the Air Force where he literally grew up mentally and physically. He married Ann Smith, and raised two boys. Brandon and Bob. He went to college but dropped out after two years. He regretted it, but became an avid reader that paid off for him. After several job changes, he was hired as a salesman with a roofing manufacturer. This became his vocation and ended in his own business as a roofing specifications writer for schools, industrial plants, and hospitals. He learned to fly and used the plane for business and pleasure, and had many interesting experiences. He loved his three sisters and two brothers and found time to spend with most of them.
