She has won a 5-star review from Reader's Favorite for her narrative nonfiction children's book, ORCAS - BEAUTIFUL, INTELLIGENT, TALKATIVE, FEROCIOUS, FASCINATING. Melanie has received thank yous from teachers for her book on bumblebees, BUMBLEBEE BUZZ. She writes books for children 3 years of age to 13. Some are educational. Some are just plain fun picture books.Melanie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and studied writing at Southern Illinois University and the University of Iowa. She now lives in Sequim, Washington.
