Serena thought that she understood what real friendship was all about. After all, she had several best friends, who seemed to be there for her. After moving away from all she knew because of her Dad's new job, she had to learn how to accept the many changes that sometimes overwhelmed her. Teenage choices, challenges, and experiences crossed her path and sometimes made her question her own Christian values and goals. She knew God had a plan, but she didn't understand it. She will strive to discover what choices were the rights ones for her, learn how to be strong in the face of adversity, recognize the good qualities and the shallow ones within herself, and through all of these things, find out what it means to be a friend, and what makes someone a golden, valuable, true friend. Sue Norris Janetzke is a mother, grandmother and retired teacher. A resident of Michigan she enjoys many hobbies including writing, reading, traveling and being with family. She has earned degrees from Western Michigan and Michigan State, as well as credits toward additional teaching credentials from Grand Valley.
