Autorenporträt
William Stone received his doctorate from Vanderbilt University where he focused his research on career development. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Study from the University of Maine and B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from the University of Southern Maine. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a National Certified Career Counselor (NCCC). Bill worked as a high school guidance director and managed several grant-funded outreach programs. He also taught graduate courses in counselor education, especially on career-related topics, and co-authored Beginning the Career Exploration System and The Career Exploration System, published by AGS. He focused on the science of chaos theory and careers as the guest editor of the issue of the Career Planning and Adult Development Journal. He has given presentations at state and national conferences, The National Career Development Conference in Chicago, and the key note addresses at both the National Interactive Television Conference, and the National Consultation on Careers in Ottawa. Before becoming President and CEO of Promising Futures, Bill was Clinical Director of the Higher Education Resources Outreach program (HERO) for the Maine Education Services Foundation.
