Betty Belanger has researched the Hungarian dairy farming community in Sherburne County, Minnesota, for many years. A native of Elk River and the daughter of immigrants herself, Betty has combined the stories she heard while growing up with the information gleaned from interviews with older members of the community, church and county records, and newspaper accounts, and has illustrated these stories with numerous photographs provided by descendants of the original Hungarian immigrants.
