Technocumbia has been from the 1990s to the present one of the cultural phenomena that has marked the history of young people and other citizens of the popular neighborhoods of Bucaramanga, providing those sectors of society with an artistic identity that has helped them to survive the economic and political inequalities they have traditionally suffered. This research is based on the following hypothesis: informal commerce is directly related to the beginning and development of technocumbia, since it has been in charge of its diffusion and commercialization in the popular sectors of the city of Bucaramanga. In addition, technocumbia is part of the popular culture of the city, and expressions that include dance and barrismo have been generated around it. Therefore, it is not possible to understand the tecnocumbiero movement in a singular way, but it is necessary to take into account its influence on these manifestations. In order to reconstruct the tecnocumbia as a popular culturein the city of Bucaramanga, we worked with different primary sources such as newspaper, audiovisual, photographic and musical material.
