Born in 1994, Michael L. Slaughter is currently 21 years old and a senior at Sacred Heart University graduating in May 2016. He is a double major in accounting and finance with a 3.94 GPA, and he is a member on the Division 1 Men's Lacrosse Team. Michael is a Welch Scholar in the John F. Welch College of Business, which is an honor awarded to the top ten students at the University, and he has also received numerous other academic accolades. In addition, he helps teach finance students as well as mentor freshmen at Sacred Heart. Michael is the founder and owner of his own business, "Tons of Cards and More." At the age of 10, he created his business with no idea where it would take him - he just had a dream, and the inspiration and drive to follow it. After establishing a prominent online brand on eBay and Amazon over numerous years, Michael took the risk of building his own website to further expand sales. With no prior experience or knowledge in web design, he spent over 1,500 hours throughout a six-month period creating and designing an e-commerce website to grow his business (www.tonsofcardsandmore.com). While attending college full-time, he continues to work over 50+ hours a week on his business alone. After 11 years of hard work and sleepless nights, Michael has positioned himself as one of the world's top sellers in his industry. Lastly, Michael is very passionate about the financial markets, an interest which developed in his early teenage years. He is looking to continue his passion upon graduation by having a prominent career in this industry. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, surfing, fishing, and reading.
