It is of vital importance the search for new teaching scenarios that generate critical reflection, that invite students to look with "new eyes", to ask questions, to re-question, looking for new ways of knowing, of thinking, of saying, of constructing knowledge and becoming aware of the need to take care of the environment. The impossibility of observing the stars in the night sky of the City of Buenos Aires due to the great amount of light motivated the search for images of starry skies and the most impressive ones were the Antarctic skies. The trip to Antarctica was made by the third grade students. They worked with "La niña del desierto blanco" by María Carro, which immersed them in the location of the Esperanza Base, the adventures of the icebreaker to reach the Antarctic peninsula, the necessary clothing to resist the low temperatures, the biological and environmental biodiversity, the precautions to be taken with the garbage produced and the daily life in the base.
