REVEREND DR. DOUGLAS R. STEPHENSON Douglas Ray Stephenson, a native Texan, is a retired US Army Chaplain (LTC), and has served the Church of God of Prophecy, Cleveland, Tennessee, as Director, Chaplaincy Ministries and as the Ecclesiastical Endorsing Agent for Chaplains. Doug retired from pastoring in August 2019 having served the following churches: Lexington, Kentucky; Coweta,, Oklahoma; Cartersville, Jonesboro, Canton (Hickory Flat), Marietta, Rossville and Lindale, Georgia. Douglas spent twenty years in the U. S. Army (1972-1992) serving as an Army Chaplain with Airborne Infantry and Special Forces units. Among his awards are the Army Commendation and Meritorious Service Medals. He earned the U. S. Army Master Parachutist and German Parachutist Badges, as well as the Green Beret of the U. S. Army Special Forces. He received the Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky, in May of 1971 and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Georgia, in May of 2000. Chaplain (LTC) Stephenson currently serves as the Commander of DAV Chapter 95, Floyd County, Rome, Georgia, and Junior Vice Commander of the VFW Post 4911, Rome, Georgia. Doug is the past chairman of the Sgt Alvin C. York Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chaplain Stephenson also serves as Regimental Chaplain for the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment Association (PIR), Fayetteville, North Carolina. Doug and his wife Judy have two grown children, Amanda and David, and are the proud grandparents of eight (8) grandchildren, and one (1) great-grandson. They currently reside in Cedartown, Georgia.
