When newly divorced, jaded mother-of-three Meg, meets a young Englishman in the Parisian garden of the Musee Rodin she barely blinks an eyelid, but when she meets him once again, later that same day in the queue waiting for entry into the Musee D'Orsay she spontaneously strikes up a conversation that will change the course of her life. A long distance love story of epic proportions ensues whilst Meg (in New Zealand) and John (in England) decide how (or if) they can make their Parisian romance something to build a shared life on. Tagging alongside their determined if trouble-prone Mum, are Meg's three young teens, her pets and a whole lot of Kiwi can-do determination. But will it be enough? Or will the authorities who seem hell-bent on deporting the Kiwis win and send them packing back to New Zealand? A story about love, life and hope. Funny, sad and true. From New Zealand to England searching for love, laughs and the way home.
Autorenporträt
Vicki Jeffels has lived in four countries, both hemispheres and has travelled around the world only to end up back where she started, in Auckland, New Zealand. She lives by the sea with her husband and youngest daughter, a crazy Lab puppy and two smart alec cats, and is visited frequently by her two adult children - most often when they need a good feed and a good yak. Vicki has been writing commercially for over 27 years and has worked in Digital Marketing and PR for a number of well known global brands in New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom. She has also worked in advertising, as a radio copywriter, and as a freelance writer. Starting her blog in 2007 was her introduction into writing 'proper', telling stories about people, not things. The blog has been very successful over the years, amassed a large following and received a number of awards for its entertaining storytelling about recycled families and expat family life. Vicki has a droll sense of humour and loves travel, chocolate, food, and wine. Preferably, all at once! From Pavlova to Pork Pies is the first novel she's written and published and she is currently working on her second novel.
