Concerns about education have focused primarily on the transmission of knowledge, on classroom practices and on student achievement. In short, the focus has been on teaching. What to teach? How to teach? For which objectives to teach? It was then that we realized the importance of management in achieving the objectives of any educational undertaking. Senegal has not escaped this trend. And it is in this context that the realization that the administration of institutions should be taken into account was made. It is therefore legitimate to ask whether the function of teacher practiced for two, five or even ten years really prepares for the function of school administrator. Apart from pedagogical experience and knowledge of certain aspects of the education system, many other aspects are ignored by the new headteacher: administrative methods, conducting meetings, management constraints, internal and external communication within the school, resource management, organization and monitoring of school life.
