This work focuses on the connection between maritime transport and land transport in Benin. At the beginning of this research, we carried out some exploratory interviews which allowed us to penetrate the twists and turns of the goods transport system in Benin. We also made very relevant internship observations which allowed us to better understand our object of study. Then, we asked ourselves a main question that guided our reflections throughout this research. On the basis of the orientations given to our development, we have broken down this research question into three specific questions, namely: What are the modes of transport likely to improve the transport chain in Benin? What is the role of handling in optimizing the transport chain in Benin? How can the performance of maintenance of handling equipment contribute to reducing the costs of the transport chain in Benin? In addition, we read the work of different authors on logistics, integrated supply chain, extended supply chain, handling, maintenance and modes of transport.
