Author, Melvin John Ruohonen, commonly referred to as Mel was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Graduating from Kindergarten in Hancock, Michigan, Mel, and family (Mom and Dad) moved to a Mining Community of White Pine, Michigan where graduation took place in 1965. At age 63, Mel began reflecting on his life and was encouraged to write a book. Now, at age 73 a second review of the book's contents Mel realized the message is best fitted to 2021. From Shifting Sand To Solid Rock relates to Youth from the 60's, most with Foundations, are better reflected in 2021. The way my age group dealt with problems (opportunities) was to fall back on our Foundations. What do today's Youth use as a benchmark to reach Solid Rock.
