The monograph identifies the factors that determined the development of domestic military strategy from the end of World War II to the collapse of the USSR. The author examines the basic principles of military strategy from 1945 to 1991.Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the Armed Forces building strategy, the formation and dynamics of changing views on the nature of the future war. The presented work assesses the system of combat readiness of the Armed Forces, the development of views on their deployment and the content of the initial period of the future war. It examines the system of strategic actions of the Armed Forces. Particular emphasis is placed on the peculiarities of domestic military strategy in local wars and international armed conflicts. It reveals the dialectics of improving the organization of strategic management of the Armed Forces in the almost half-century interval under study.
