Johann Sebastian Bach's contributions to the organ world are vast, yet the works of his successors are less familiar. This book focuses primarily on the organ repertoire during the Pre-Classical period, a time when musical form was changing, and the organ seemed to be all but forgotten. Three of Bach's sons - Wilhelm Friedemann, Carl Philipp Emanuel, and Johann Christian - as well as his best-known pupil, Johann Krebs - continued to write for the organ, and their efforts are discussed in this book.
