Shane Facer was very active as a young child. As a teen-ager, he was very active in gymnastics and martial arts. Having his life dramatically changed in 1989 by sustaining a traumatic brain injury. He lost sight in his right eye. His faith in God and in other people was significantly increased through his long road to recovery. After recovering to a somewhat stable level of independence and being released from the hospital, he still had many boundaries that he had to deal with, i.e. short-term memory problems and recognition of physical limitations, but the real battle came later as the effects of the brain injury caused many issues of inappropriateness and impulsivity. That is when his faith in God slowly by steadily began to increase. After many years of trying to conquer those issues, he finally began to retrain his brain to monitor itself in spite of the loss of his right frontal lobe. Many people during his long road to recovery had tried to help him. Until he took wise counsel from others as well as applied specific scriptures from the Word of God did he begin to become a conqueror. He now lives with his wife Jennie and is very active in his church as an usher and children's church teacher. The Lord has also blessed him with the gift to write wonderful poetry which he uses to bless others. Shane has high hopes that his writings will help others realize that with God, nothing is impossible.
