The social and political demands of civil unrest are all to easily reduced to depictions of direct, manifest - in contrast to latent structural - violence or to just another instance of representatives of the state power struggling with protestors. Starting from that premise, the research and exhibition project Front, Field, Line, Plane: Researching the Militant Image questioned how political and social struggles - and state violence - are represented, mediated, and circulated through images and architecture.
