Recent years have seen a considerable increase in the literature review concerning the use of frugal innovation in Western economies. However, little attention has been paid to the readiness for Western Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to adopt frugal innovation. Therefore, the goal of this research is to contribute to fill the gap in literature concerning the readiness of Western SMEs to implement frugal innovation within their organisation. Quantitative data were collected thanks to a questionnaire addressed to managers of Western SMEs. Our findings suggest that implementing frugal innovation in the Western SMEs is an opportunity for them to perform in their markets as they have to face many constraints (financial, human, operational issues).
