Fruits are the means by which plants disseminate seeds. The study of fruits is called Pomology. Most of us are not aware of the nutritional qualities of fruits that we consume. Hence, in this book nutritional qualities of selected native and exotic fruits have been made. Fruits are generally rich in fiber, water content, Vitamin C ad sugars. Regular consumption of fruits is associated with reduced risk of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, Alzheimer disease etc. Fruits are also low in calories which would help lower one's calories intake as part of a weight loss diet. Hence, this provides an overview on the nutritional benefits of selected tropical and exotic fruits.
