Harry Bolton and Jacob Emerson are in their element--surfing in the deep Western Pacific. It's only when the pair head for home that we learn "home" is aboard the US Merchant Marine vessel Garcia, loaded with US Marine Corp equipment. Harry is the Captain, and Jacob, his best friend and blood brother, is the First Mate. The two spend time looking at charts of remote islands and dream about far-off surf destinations with endless barreling waves in uncrowded lineups. Harry is ashore at the bar with Luana, his Filipino girlfriend, when a stranger gives him an envelope and leaves. Later, upon opening the sealed envelope, it appears the Pentagon wants to hatch a plot and commandeer the Garcia. With the ship's military supplies, they want to arm the Philippine guerrilla forces, which are fighting the terrorist group Al-Ziara, who are taking over the island of Mindanao. The plot will make it appear that the Garcia has sunk. The crew will get off safely, except for Harry, whose death will be staged. A new life and identity to his liking will be provided. Harry meets with Captain Bruce Dunbar, the stranger who gave him the envelope. Harry sees few disadvantages and many advantages to the plan. Aboard the Garcia, Captain Dunbar's Navy SEAL team plant products that provide the illusion of a fire, and one that will spin out of control quickly and blow up the ship. Harry orders Jacob to get the crew away in the starboard lifeboat while he steers the ship into the wind and far away from the ship's explosive range of three miles. He says he will launch the port lifeboat and join them when it's safe. Oblivious to Harry, things go fatally bad during the launching of the lifeboat and evacuating the ship. From their lifeboat, in the pitch-black night, the crew are silent when they see an explosion destroy what they believe was their home, the Garcia, and hope for the best for their leader, Captain Harry. Being Harry's best friend and blood brother, Jacob is not convinced that Harry died and that the Garcia sank. Many clues arise that offer validity to his suspicions. He and his wife, Alexita, sail deep into the South Pacific to find him. Jacob and Alexita have a hunch where Harry might be hiding, but those deeply remote islands are fraught with pirates, bandits, and thieves. The circumstances arise where Harry and Jacob will have to join forces to survive. Through those odds and formed cooperation of survival, Jacobs's goal is to bring Harry back to the USA and have him testify before a grand jury on what really happened that fateful night when the Garcia supposedly sank. Harry believes the CIA will kill him if he attempts to testify. He has no such plan and will do anything to avoid that very scenario. This book is an exciting tale of deep state secret plots. It will take you aboard a government ship, sailing vessels, diving and surfing, and a journey throughout the world's oceans. Every chapter ensures that the reader is fully immersed in the water and the suspenseful truth behind the mysterious top secret sinking of the ship that the two blood brothers once called home. Harry and Jacob are like two tightly twisted yarns intertwined deep within the strands of a strong length of rope. However, constant tension and excessive weight could break apart the strongest of any rope.
