The monograph deals with a study of the rules of communication in the institutional type of discourse and linguistic and pragmatic features of speech behavior in the triad "prosecution - judge - defense". This topic is very relevant on the basis that judicial discourse is a complex phenomenon with a large number of participants who perform the functions prescribed by the institutional rules and realize different facets of their linguistic personality. The peculiarities of the English-speaking speech behavior of all parties in the courtroom have not previously been the subject of a separate study and may be of interest in terms of its functional characteristics.
