Steven Sandberg-Lewis received his doctorate from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, now the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon, USA in 1978. He has been in continuous private practice for 45 years and is in his third decade as a professor of gastroenterology at NUNM. He is frequently interviewed and lectures nationally and internationally at seminars and webinars. In addition to Let's Be Real About Reflux, he is the author of the textbook, Functional Gastroenterology: Assessing and Addressing the Causes of Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (2017 second edition). Sandberg-Lewis is one of the founders of the GastroANP, the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. The GastroANP has recently completed the arduous task of creating a fellowship exam. Dr. Sandberg-Lewis will be in the first group of physicians to take the FABNG fellowship exam in Fall 2023. In addition to working with patients in Oregon and California where he is licensed to practice Naturopathic Medicine, he conducts educational consultations with physicians and people suffering from digestive disorders throughout the other 48 states and internationally.
