Properties of ferroelectric perovskites are intriguing from a technological and scientific point of view. The ongoing progress in the field of advanced electronic components is focused toward their miniaturization and improvement of their functional properties. Thus, the aspect of size and performance remain of key importance for their successful integration in commercial devices as well as for novel applications. The presented research work investigates the influence of synthesis method on the structural and functional properties of sodium bismuth titanate, Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 (NBT) as a relaxor-type ferroelectric perovskite and strontium titanate, SrTiO3 (ST), as a member of incipient subgroup. Fundamentally different techniques were applied in order to attain the knowledge for their preparation in the form of nano-structured powders and thin films.
