The material presented in this book is based on the Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318M-14) and Commentary (ACI 318RM-14). The book is aimed at two different groups. First, by treating the material in a logical and unified form, it is hoped that it can serve as a useful text for undergraduate student courses on reinforced concrete. Secondly, as a result of the continuing activity in the design and construction of the reinforced concrete structures, it will be of value to practicing structural engineers. Numerous illustrative examples are given, the solution of which has been supplies so as to supplement the theoretical back ground and to familiarize the reader with steps involved in actual design problems.

About the AuthorProf. Dr.Sabih Hashim Al-Zuhairy ¿ received his B.S degree in Civil Engineering from Mosul University ¿Iraq in 1982, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Kiev Civil Engineering Institute in 1987 and 1991 .He has been a professor of structural engineering in the Civil Engineering Department at University of Basrah since 2001.
