This paper aims to analyse the importance of the working environment based on the Principle of the Dignity of the Human Person. It shows that a healthy working environment is a fundamental right for those who work. To do this, it is important to define what a labour habitat is, its requirements and characteristics. This is followed by a conceptualisation of Fundamental Rights and a consequent analysis of the working environment and its fundamental protection by the law through collective protection, with the aim of guaranteeing the dignity of the human person. Consequently, the meeting of these concepts gives rise to the need to strengthen worker protection, insofar as the object of legal protection of the labour habitat is precisely the life, health and quality of life of those who work. Finally, an examination of the concept of the words "work", "environment" and "working environment", the historical origin of legal protection for the working environment and the legal nature ofthe right to a balanced working environment.
