The fields of nonlinear optics and photonics are rapidly emerging as the technology in 21st century. The materials which manipulate the light are known as nonlinear optical (NLO) materials and these materials are gaining importance in technologies such as electro-optics and lasers which includes optical communication, and dynamic image processing. In this work, some NLO crystals like tetrakis-thiourea trichloroacetic acid crystals (TTCA) crystals were grown by aqueous solution method and the harvested crystals were characterized by many studies. The mechanical parameters of the grown crystals were determined at different applying loads by microhardness test. The values of dielectric constant and dielectric loss, AC conductivity and activation energy of the samples were calculated. The thermal stability of the grown crystals were studied by TG/DTA studies. The linear optical parameters like transmittance, optical band gap, linear absorption coefficient, extinction coefficient, optical conductivity of the samples were analyzed. EDAX and CHN studies. This crystal is novel material and it can be used for generating Second harmonic (SHG) and third harmonic (THG) laser radiations.
