He is beset by the poverty-related triad of diseases, crime and violence. Together with his close friend Jim Davids, his girlfriend Fay Ismail and Detective Adams and his daughter Lydiah, all the characters become embroiled in the political and police violence immediately following the 1976 massacre of over 60 school children in Soweto. They also become embroiled in a series of vicious attacks on township paedophiles in the already tense slum township where nationwide student-driven insurrection is in full swing to topple apartheid.
