Fusarium head blight caused by Fusarium Oxysporum Schlect F-Sp cubense reduces production in some varieties of banana and plantain trees in Batangi-Bingo locality by invading the vascular vessels. This study attempted to see its influence on the socio-economic life of these farmers. Three methods (analytical, statistical and comparative) and techniques (observation, interview and documentation) were used to collect information on 90 farmers with at least 20 banana and plantain stocks in 3 sites/villages in this locality. Field results show that: 55.6% of the constraints related to banana cultivation are diseases and pests, 69.8% of the farmers discover the disease by chlorosis manifested especially on the oldest leaves, which present a break at the level of the petiole and giving the aspect of a skirt around the plant; the propagation is made at 73.8% by the use of infected shoots which at the beginning seemed to be healthy then transported towards the not infected zone.
