The creation of the SOL Confederation was part of this human space expansion. Little did they know what indeed lay beyond our solar system. The discovery was an Imperium, a galactic empire as old as time. It was shattered by a civil war leaving fractions to rule themselves on the outer edges. The core of the old Imperium was still intact near the center of the galaxy and outward toward the edges of the advancing confederation. The SOL commanders soon learned that other ancient alien races were taking advantage of the disarray across the galaxy to advance on everyone. Advanced alien weapons and devices captured gave the confederation a chance to survive. For the Confederation to advance, it must move into occupied alien space, defeat a superior enemy, and then capture a wormhole to advance its Future Conquests across the galaxy.
