Dr. Vijay Kumar Shukla is Rector, Banaras Hindu University and Professor in the Department of General Surgery, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, UP, India. Dr. Shukla is internationally known for his research on gallbladder cancer and wound healing. He had been the visiting Professor at reputed international universities/medical schools. He has been honored with several national and international awards, including the Life Time Achievement Award at the World Union of Wound Healing Societies in Toronto, Canada, in 2008, for his exemplary work in wound healing and research. He was awarded the Fellow of the College of Wound Care Specialist (FCWCS), Malaysia, in 2017 and a fellowship of the National Academy of Medical Sciences in 2007. In his illustrious career, Prof. Shukla has been the President of the Indian Society of Wound Management, Member of the ICMR task force on gallbladder cancer, Examiner and Inspector of the National Board of Examination, Vice-president, Hernia Society of India, Executive member, Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India, Governing Council Member of ASI, Member, Independent Innovators Expert panel of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. He hosted the ASICON 2006 at Varanasi as Organizing Secretary. He has been a member of 12 national and international professional bodies and has published 470 papers in International and National Journals. Dr. Manoj Pandey is a Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Visiting Professor of the Department of Surgical Oncology, AIIMS, Rishikesh, Uttrakhand. He has served as the Director of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre and National Institute for Research in Environmental Health, Indian Council of Medical Research. His research publications reflect his expertise in gallbladder cancer research and his aspiration for quality research. He has published more than 328 publications. He has been honored with several awards, including Dr. U C Gupta Memorial Award for Excellence in Surgery. Dr. Pandey has also been a member of the task force of ICMR on the review of cancer management. Dr. Ruhi Dixit works as a Women Scientist in the Department of General Surgery, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. She has a keen interest in cancer research and has been working on gallbladder cancer. She has published in various journals of international reputation. Moreover, she has served as a reviewer of a reputed double-blind referred international journal. To perform cutting-edge research, she has also participated in various hands-on trainings and workshops in related areas and has presented her novel findings on reputed international platforms. She is currently working on the development of diagnostic biomarkers for gallbladder cancer.
