About the Author DR. SID LIUFAU, MTC, HCC, CIT, is the co-founder of the Civility For All Foundation (CFAF), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting civility. CFAF focuses on consulting, educating, training, and resolving issues related to disagreements, as well as addressing mental health care philosophies and solutions for all individuals. Born in Kahuku, Oahu, in 1963, his journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to his Polynesian heritage and a desire to bridge cultural divides. Excelling in various fields, from theatrical arts to self-defense, he has always sought to embrace diverse experiences. In 2018, Dr. Liufau's life took a turn when he became involved in addressing Asian hate crimes and the mental health challenges faced by his own children. This led him to commit himself to promoting civility and finding solutions to these pressing issues. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 further reinforced Dr. Liufau's resolve, as he witnessed firsthand the impact of the pandemic on mental health, especially among youth. Despite facing personal and professional challenges, he remained steadfast in his mission, ultimately being recognized with an Honorary Doctorate for his contributions to civility promotion. Today, Dr. Liufau's focus remains on his family, community service, and sharing his story of finding happiness through faith. Through the Civility For All Foundation, he continues to train individuals in mental health care philosophies and solutions, aiming to create a more compassionate society for all.
