Lower access of women to managerial position on their job is well established in literature. This book examines the situation of women with a focus on gender based discrimination and progression along their career line relative to their male counterpart. The book made use of survey design to study selected manufacturing firm in Nigeria, which is non- traditional line of occupation for women to establish the impact of gender bias on their progress compared to their male counterpart. The study indicated that while there are no official hindrance to women's progression to management cadre in the non traditional occupation studied relative to their male counterpart,Wider traditional perception about women's ability to manage seem to be resilient thereby reducing their drive to progress fast.In conclusion the book discourages negative notion about the other gender and encourages a gender sensitive work environment.
