Policy makers, developmental agents and researchers are now aware of the need to incorporate gender and climate change issues in agricultural planning and development in order to improve food production. This book attempt to explore selected agricultural issues as they relate to gender and climate change and their implications for improving food productivity in Africa. Despite Africa being endowed with different livestock and crop species, the current food production strategies contribution to poverty reduction and food security is regarded as inadequate. Among some of the reasons given for unsatisfactory food production are negative climate change impact and gender differential disparities in ownership, labor allocation and decision making in agricultural production. Therefore, it is hoped that understanding gender differentials and climate change dynamics will increase and sustain food production.
