This study looks at the representation of gender issues in Genesis 1-4 in five influential translations from the Hebrew original: the very first, into ancient Greek, the Latin Vulgate, Luther's first German Bible, the Authorized Version (King James), and the Dutch State Bible, and considers the varying degrees of androcentricity in the texts.
