Differential performances of sexes in technology education have now become an issue of interest. This study looks at the contributions of an important institution, the producer of middle-level manpower, for the socio-economic development of the country. In doing this, Kaduna Polytechnic is specifically discussed to assess the overall gender mainstreaming of the polytechnic system. It is against the back drop of the foregoing that this study was conceived. It is very rare to find girls majoring in Science, Engineering and Technology based programmes; the general out-look is that girls are stereotyped in majoring in Arts and/or Humanities.
