The main aim of the current study is to investigate gender representation in the Moroccan 9th grade EFL textbooks officially approved and used in public junior high schools from a sociolinguistic perspective. This work is concluded with some limitations of the study as well as a number of suggestions for future research vis-à-vis the Moroccan 9th grade EFL textbooks.
